Petrea Merlot
Wine made with merlot from the plot called “La Feixa Llarga”, merlot vineyard planted in 1982. It is the oldest merlot vineyard. The 2015 harvest was characterized by enjoying an extremely dry and hot summer period, following the trend of recent years. From the resulting harvest, musts were obtained with abundant coloring and tannic matter. Once the first part of vinification is over, the wine is placed in new French oak barrels of medium toast for approximately 12 months.

It is an intense wine of curious production: of the more than four years of aging it has at this time, only twelve months were spent in barrel. The remaining time has gone to a period of repose in the bottle, fining without the wood taking up the aromas of the grapes. It is a dense, dark, powerful, yet elegant wine, which combines ripe fruit with slight notes of spice and a freshness on the palate that suggests it still has years to go to keep offering different nuances.
